Our apartment is on Via dell’Argilla, in the San Pietro area, with cafés, supermarkets and shops nearby. Combine visits to the Vatican with walks through central Rome.

For the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel, check availability and opening times on the official website and book ahead. The museum entrance is separate from the entrance to St Peter’s Basilica, so check your route before setting out.

You could spend one day exploring the Vatican and Borgo, another discovering the city’s historic squares, and a third visiting the Colosseum and archaeological area. Always check opening hours and entry requirements for the places you plan to visit.

Getting here and getting around

Roma San Pietro station is within walking distance of the apartment. When travelling from the airport, check current train times and any connections on the railway operator’s website.
